How to get a neighborhood to participate locally? Invest in projects together and create a clear plan on how to do so?
To guide these conversations the local Municipality of Eindhoven asked social designers Tove Elfferich and Fiona Jongejans to create interventions or host sessions. I was asked by Tove and Fiona to support a session which was about making plans for activities within the neighborhood of Vaartbroek.
In a session we ideated with the neighborhood on new (and refreshing) activities and pushed the participants to become concrete with a project canvas. I was fun to learn that the ideating was actually more difficult than filling the canvas. Furthermore the canvas helped the neighborhood residents to see first next steps in organizing their activity and collaborate.
Hopefully some of the ideas will now actually be realized.
